.NAME Domain Names
Established in 2001, the Dot NAME generic domain name extension is the single TLD planned for personal sites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are famous by. At the beginning, just third-level registrations were possible, so if you planned to reserve john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already registered third-level domains remained active.
Through our company, you can purchase your .NAME domain for an interval between 1 and 10 years. You will have the opportunity to edit the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our company if you have its EPP transfer authorization key from the present registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. There are no particular regulations on who can book a .NAME domain, but in order to maintain the idea behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may verify who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration could be challenged.
The dot NAME generic top-level domain is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no further cost. In this way, your dot NAME domain will be recognized in your country or region with the precise spelling in your local language.
