If you would like to transfer a domain name from one domain name registrar to another, you’ll need a unique transfer code, which may be referred to by multiple names – an EPP authentication code, an AuthInfo code, a domain password, and so on. All these names denote one and the same thing – a code that the domain owner gets from the current domain registrar and provides to the new one at the time of the order. Without an authentic code, a transfer procedure cannot be initiated and this is one of the security mechanisms against unapproved transfer attempts used with all generic and with most country-specific extensions. For even better safety, the code comprises of numbers and/or special symbols and is case-sensitive, so in case you would like to transfer one of your domain names, you need to supply the new company with the correct code.

EPP Transfer Protection in Hosting

You can get the EPP transfer authorization code for any domain name that you’ve registered with our company with only a couple of mouse clicks from the same Hepsia Control Panel that you will use to administer your hosting account. As soon as you go to the Registered Domains section, you’ll find all your domains conveniently displayed in alphabetical order. In case a certain extension supports transfers between domain registrars with an EPP code, you will see an EPP button on the right side of the respective domain name. If you click that button, the code will be sent to the email associated with the Registrant contact for the domain name in question. If you want, you can edit the contact info, including the email, without the need to leave this section of the Control Panel, if the currently entered email address is not valid anymore.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you have a semi-dedicated server account with our company and you’ve registered a domain name that you’d like to transfer, you can obtain the EPP transfer authorization code remarkably easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer both your account and your domain names. If you visit the Registered Domains section, you will find an EPP button to the right of your domain names, as long as their extensions support transfers between registrars with such a code. All codes are sent automatically by our system to the registrant’s email address to make sure that only the owner of the domain name can see this info. In case the currently entered email address is not valid any longer, you can edit it with a few clicks without the need to leave this section of the Control Panel. The change is instant, so you will be able to request the EPP transfer code for the given domain name right away.
